Don’t Visit These 5 Places with Kids

One of the best experiences for families is going on a great holiday. Planning for holidays as a family, particularly with children involved, can be challenging. It is of utmost importance for parents to protect their children from any danger, especially when they’re traveling.

A good travel insurance policy will provide travel insurance for children. When you purchase an annual multi-trip policy, kids are usually covered for free or you can get 50% off when you purchase a single trip cover or backpacker insurance.

Certain destinations are not ideal for families with kids. Here are 5 places that you should avoid until the kids are older:

1. Monte Carlo, Monaco

Everyone knows that Monte Carlo is a city that’s associated with casinos and the Grand Prix. This scenario does not really evoke children on vacation. Kids have nothing to do in the city because Monte Carlo is an adult’s playground. People who do bring their children to Monaco have nothing else to do but to go shopping with them, which is not a fun activity for kids.

2. Mumbai, India

India is a beautiful country with an interesting culture and delicious cuisine. However, it is a challenge to bring little ones to this country. First off, children’s palates are not used to the spice-laded food of India. Mumbai is a great city to visit without the kids because it is a city that needs to be experienced first-hand — the slums, Bollywood, Thieves’ Market, the temples — might be too much for kids to handle.

3. Bangkok, Thailand

Bangkok is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Southeast Asia. However, its attractions are usually geared towards young backpackers and people in their twenties looking to have a good time. The party atmosphere of the city and the flagrant display of prostitution and sexuality may be a lot for younger kids to process, and parents might be faced with questions that are difficult to answer. When the kids are in their teenage years, going on a holiday in Bangkok might be a good idea if only to visit their spectacular temples and the Grand Palace.

4. The Maldives

The Maldives is one of the most spectacular places in the world. The stunning, secluded beach resorts are amazing, and that is the reason why it is so popular with honeymooners. For families with kids, it may be a challenge to go there. It is so remote that the islands can only be reached by seaplane, helicopter, or boat. Not only is this quite expensive, but it will also be tiring for the little ones. This romantic spot is designed for lovers and not for families.

5. Dubai, UAE

Dubai is an incredibly expensive city with almost no activities for kids apart from consumer-driven places that are not worth the cost of a Middle Eastern holiday. You go to the Middle East to soak in the culture and revel in the outdoor atmosphere — and Dubai has none of that. The primary activities in Dubai are all connected to what adults love to do — ride a wind-powered buggy, snow ski at the Dubai Mall, and enjoy a cocktail on the Terrace at the Burj al Arab.

Traveling with kids requires precise and careful planning. Choosing the best place to travel to is crucial. Another important aspect is getting travel insurance for children. Doing these will make the experience smooth and worry-free.
